Local Law 97 is aimed at reducing emissions from NYC’s largest buildings, setting progressively stricter carbon limits for most buildings over 25,000 square feet. The law is targeting a 40% reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2050. The Department of Buildings (DOB) will share key lessons learned and guidance for building owners focused on complying with the regulations while improving the performance of their buildings.
