Committing to Carbon Neutrality

Committing to Carbon Neutrality: Measuring, Reducing and Offsetting Your Organization’s GHG Footprint focused on how CDFIs, other nonprofits and businesses can achieve carbon neutral operations by measuring, reducing and offsetting the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions resulting from business operations.

The June 16, 2021 webinar featured the following speakers:

  •  CPC’s Atalia Howe, Manager of Sustainability Programs and Danielle Donnelly, Sustainability Associate, discussed the process of achieving carbon neutral operations, from organizing a Carbon Neutral Working Group to implementing a compost program to digitizing office processes.
  • William Theisen, Head of Net Zero – Decarbonization at EcoAct (an Atos Company) took participants through the basics of the ‘measure, reduce, offset’ approach to carbon neutrality, and how organizations can take the first step.
  • Thomas Blackburn, Senior Director, Business Development and Partnerships at SustainCERT, discussed how SustainCERT and other verification bodies certify offsets, and how carbon offset projects play an important role in the transition to a carbon neutral economy.
