“I applaud Mayor de Blasio and Deputy Mayor Been for their decision to appoint Louise Carroll as the next Commissioner of HPD. She is exceptionally well qualified to lead the agency, having most recently served at HDC as General Counsel, and at HPD for more than a decade, overseeing some of the agency’s most high-profile and challenging projects and issues. More than that, Louise is a person that exemplifies the best of what a public servant can and should be. I had the pleasure of working with Louise while I was HPD Commissioner, and know her to be an incredibly thoughtful and compassionate person, as well as an advocate for tenants and communities.
