April 5, 2016, New York City, NY — The New York City Energy Efficiency Corporation (NYCEEC), a leading provider of clean energy financing solutions, announced the addition of Sadie McKeown, the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at the Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), to NYCEEC’s Board of Directors. Ms. McKeown brings deep lending expertise, wide-ranging management experience and energy-related finance leadership to help further NYCEEC’s success.
At CPC, Ms. McKeown oversees all of the lending activities, business operations and investor relations for the affordable housing and community revitalization finance company, and was instrumental in its 2011 restructuring and subsequent success. She was also responsible for the development of CPC’s Green Financing Initiative that combined public incentives with private dollars to finance energy efficiency retrofits.

Most recently Ms. McKeown has spearheaded the creation of CPC’s innovative new underwriting method that has the potential to make energy efficiency retrofits financially feasible for a broad range of building owners. The “underwriting to savings” system evaluates how much savings will be achieved from proposed energy efficiency upgrades within a scope of work before the construction or rehabilitation of a property is financed. A percentage of those savings are then underwritten into the mortgage. CPC also provides in-house technical expertise and works closely with owners to help them understand the unique sustainability opportunities of their buildings and how best to capture any potential savings.
At NYCEEC, Ms. McKeown is joining a diverse, multi-talented board that includes real estate experts, clean energy investors, policymakers and environmental advocates. Together they will help guide the growth and impact of an organization which, since 2011, has financed over $80 million dollars in clean energy projects across 5.2 million square feet of NYC properties—eliminating over 570,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases.

Ms. McKeown earned her Master’s degree in Human Services Administration with a concentration in Housing from Cornell University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Fordham University.
