A Quality Place to Call Home for 1 Million People

By Rafael E. Cestero, President & CEO

Today, the importance of having a safe, affordable place to call home cannot be overstated. That is why I am incredibly proud to share that Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), in collaboration with our borrowers and partners has financed safe, quality places for more than one million people to call home.

As we reflect on the 46 years of impact CPC has made in the neighborhoods we serve, we recognize the long road ahead. Our belief that housing is the foundation of thriving communities takes on new meaning as COVID-19 and its economic ripple effects exacerbate the challenges that underserved communities faced even before the pandemic, in particular those communities of color whose access to wealth and wellbeing has been systemically oppressed for generations.

The need for bringing capital, and with it stability and opportunity, to the neighborhoods we serve has never been more acute. The mission of CPC has never been more critical.

With that in mind, we look ahead to the next one million people in need of a stable, quality place to call home. Knowing that our mission is more important than ever before, we are more committed than ever before to focusing our capital on the communities and individuals who need it most, and identifying new ways to reach our most vulnerable neighbors in lasting, meaningful ways.
