NYC's Energy Benchmarking Deadline is has been extended to May 31, 2013. Multifamily building owners with buildings over 50,000 square feet must annually comply with the requirements of Local Law 84. Owners are subject to a $500 fine per building for each quarter they don't benchmark energy usage.
